Signs & Symptoms
Started with high liver counts. We monitored over the years and it progressed to not being able to get up when I sat on the ground to weed the gardens and play with the kids. Then over time it progressed into my legs giving out and I would fall and not be able to get back up.
I was a pretty active person until Pompe slowly crept into our lives. We would go fishing, camping, biking, and traveling around checking out surrounding towns and provinces. We still try to do some of these but had to adapt to a new way of achieving it. We drive more so I can pack all my gear that helps me with my new normal. They even have paved trails to go fishing so I can use my scooter. Family and friends are the most important things to me.
